During the Monaco Yacht Show, Panoblu’s product expert, Sascha Kunze, shared his thoughts on how the Panoblu 360° imaging system enhances life onboard yachts. From documenting unique journeys to improving onboard safety, Sascha shares his insights into how Panoblu’s technology benefits owners, guests, and crew.
WHAT MAKES PANOBLU SYSTEM ESSENTIAL FOR MODERN SUPERYACHTS?

We have you know over 100-megapixel camera sensors that take stunning 360° photos of everywhere the yacht’s been and is, and as such you have those memories forever. HOW DOES PANOBLU ENHANCE THE YACHTING EXPERIENCE FOR OWNERS, GUESTS AND CREW?
“So an owner using Panoblu Seaview, will always know where his (*their) yacht is, will always know where his (*their) yacht has been, will see those locations over and over again and they can basically retrace their steps and have a complete record everywhere that the yacht has visited. And that itself brings with it a value that they can experience wherever they are in the world if they choose that option. So they can log in and see you know the the arctic voyage months later and retrace it step by step and whether they see those icebergs or those stunning coasts and glaciers or there in the Bahamas you know and they have had a stunning stunning sunset they can relive that at anytime.”
WHY IS PANOBLU A PERFECT MATCH FOR EXPLORER YACHTS?
“For explorer yachts who go into uncharted waters Panoblu Seaview specifically is relevant because you are exploring so you may be going into waters that are uncharted or where very little information exists. And with Panoblu Seaview you can capture the coastlines, you can understand the glaciers and you have that data or you know those readings as scientific data if you really wanted to, and can make use of that for map making, you can use it for reliving that experience and for documentation. You know if you’re visiting glaciers in Antarctica you can see from year to year how they changed and that is constantly documented. And also you can see what is around you, early warning systems you can see 360° if there’s other vessels approaching, whether there’s icebergs etc., all that is documented. And now with Panoblu IR you can see that at night as well. So you have that infrared version and that really gives you documentation at a very very different level, so you can spot you know those heat signatures earlier, and can really see what’s happening.”
HOW DOES THE PANOBLU SYSTEM CONTRIBUTE TO SAFETY?
“So, safety is all about awareness and Panoblu gives you an omni-awareness wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, because it is 360 degrees — so you see everything all the time all at once. With our daytime system you get an image every minute you understand what is happening around you, so you can act on those early warning indicators. You see vessels approaching etc. With the infrared system we now bring that to nighttime vision, so you see everything, all at once, all the time — meaning that you can see approaching boats from whatever direction they’re coming, you don’t need to point the camera in that direction you just see it because it sees everything. And that gives you that early warning to act on any threats, to act on events that occur on board — maybe you have a swimmer or you have multiple swimmers onboard around the yacht and you can see those in infrared, you can see the tenders manoeuvring, when you’re coming into harbour, close quarter manoeuvres at night. You have a much better vision of everything that’s going on around you and I think that is key for safety.”
WHAT IS NEXT FOR PANOBLU?
“Panoblu is continuously innovating in the 360° imaging market be that video or photography. We have some of the highest resolution cameras on the market for this application and we will continue to push those boundaries, offering high end higher resolution faster live streams and more awareness. You know AI helps with these things a lot so early detection warning systems are all going to be part of the experience for Panoblu enhancing the safety onboard giving captains and crew more awareness. Allowing captains and owners to experience the yacht also over over again. So we continue to innovate both in the leisure as well as the safety and security markets.”
